Deposit Policy
It is required to leave a deposit to make an appointment to get tattooed. Deposit amounts are based on the tattooer’s hourly rate and availability. Our deposits are no less than
$100 cash.
Deposits are required for a few reasons. Tattooers can spend upwards of 8 hours of their free time working on a design. Here at Rue Morgue Tattoo Gallery, we encourage our
artists to take their time and make it their very best.
Also, if the attendance policy is not followed, many times it can be very difficult to fill the opening at the last minute.
If the attendance policy is not followed, our artists are left with reserved chair time and no client to tattoo. Deposits ensure the artists are compensated for their creative time and/or their chair time that did not result in a tattoo.
Deposits are non-refundable.
Deposits will be deducted from the total cost of the tattoo on the last session.
For multiple sessions, the deposit is required to stay on file until the tattoo is complete, no exceptions.
The studio requires 48 hour notice by phone for rescheduling in order for the deposit to transfer to a new appointment day & time. If you reschedule more than twice, your
deposit will be forfeited on the third attempt to reschedule.
If the attendance policy is not followed by the client, the deposit will be forfeited at the discretion of the artist.
Deposits will not be refunded and cannot be transferred to a different artist, different design, different service, or different client.
Please shower before your appointment & make sure to dress so that the area getting tattooed is easily accessible. Please make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before, eat a hearty meal immediately before the appointment, and do not arrive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Avoid getting sunburned or changing your skin routine immediately prior to the appointment.
Please bring only one adult guest and find a sitter for your children. There is no room for more than 3 adults in the operatory including yourself, your artist, and your one adult guest. Children will not be allowed in the booths.
Please be on time. Being 15 minutes late will result in your appointment being
rescheduled. If you show up late or cannot fulfill the time slot reserved for any reason, your deposit will be subject to forfeiture at your tattooer’s discretion.
Please make sure you’re also prepared to pick up aftercare products after the
appointment.for the success of your new tattoo
Tattooers reserve the right to reschedule an appointment at any time. Our artists follow a strict rescheduling policy with our studio. Those circumstances include personal
illness or the illness of their children, death in the family or other family emergencies, and scheduling conflicts in which the other client must take priority. We appreciate your understanding for these rare & special situations.
Deposits on file will expire after one year.
As always, we appreciate your business and welcome to the rue crew!

"When I walk into a tattoo shop for the first time, my main concern is for the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. I don’t really concern myself so much with the decor as long as it looks nice, neat, and organized. But every once in a while, I have the pleasure of visiting a tattoo shop that is so aesthetically pleasing that my visit becomes more of an experience than a simple tour. I had just such an experience last weekend while visiting Shelbyville, Indiana’s newest all-custom shop – The Rue Morgue Tattoo Gallery"
